Appointments
Patients are seen on an appointment basis. We encourage you to make an appointment for all office visits. Appointments can be made by calling (919) 550-5354 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you have a medical problem that needs immediate attention, we will work you in for an office visit, but please remember that patients with an appointment may be seen first.
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please notify the receptionist as soon as possible. As an aid to us in providing you complete services and for your safety, at each appointment please bring all the medications, including prescriptions and over the counter medications. Please bring a list of your concerns to discuss with the Doctor. We will try to see you at the appointed hour. We realize your time is valuable and will do our best to keep you from having to wait for a long period.
To save you time in our office filling out new patient forms, we have our Patient Registration Form and Health History form that you can download, and fill in. Please bring these with you to your 1st office visit.

Telephone Calls
The telephone is answered during regular office hours. Staff members handle all incoming calls to avoid interrupting the Doctor's schedule. You can rest assured that our nurse has been trained to answer most questions. If you call after the regular office hours, or when all lines are busy, you will be directed to our voice mail where you can leave a message. We try to return all calls on a timely basis, however, it is helpful to advise us of a telephone number where you can be reached both during the day and after hours.
Prescription Refills
When you need to refill a prescription, call the office during regular office hours. Sometimes prescription refill requests appear simple, but may require an examination or new instructions. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
After Hours
For medical problems after regular office hours, Dr. Meehan or the physician on call for him can be reached by calling Johnston Medical Center at (919) 934-8171. The hospital operator will page the doctor on call. If it is a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or proceed to the nearest hospital where the emergency room physician will begin treatment and notify the doctor.
Hospitalization
Dr. Meehan is on staff at Johnston Medical Center. He can admit you and make daily visits.
If another hospital is preferred, we will be glad to refer your care to another doctor who will be able to make visits at the hospital of your choice.
Your Referrals
We know that the referral of your friends and neighbors to our practice is the highest compliment we can receive, and we sincerely appreciate your recommendation. Be assured that we will always make time for a new patient.
Privacy Policies
Your privacy is important to us. We have included our Privacy Practices and an acknowledgement form for you to download and sign. Please bring the Acknowledgement form at your first visit to our office.
